Earlier this month, my computer wouldn't connect to the wireless after I booted it, with NetworkManager giving me a "device not ready" message. Since it's a very old wireless card I re-purposed from an even older build, I just assumed the wireless card finally gave out and ordered a new one. In the meantime I moved it to the room the router's in and tried connecting it via Ethernet and using the Auto Ethernet connection under Network Manager, but I keep getting a message about the active connection being removed before it was initialized whenever I try to select it. Now the new wireless card, a TP-LINK, arrived and is doing the same thing the old wireless card did: "device not ready." It is showing up in both lspci and ifconfig, though. Is there anything I can do that might get me reconnected to either LAN or WLAN without requiring a reinstall?
Edit: I should probably mention it's an automatic DHCP connection, not static.
