    Fedora more popular then Windows!

Or there is something wrong with the server

Getting these lately every once in a while, and site is slower to load then usual.

Yeah, me too. Maybe the Leyden Jars are failing.

Hmm.. I don't know what can be going on. I haven't noticed that here.

But, I can guarantee you that the server is running Linux

Possibly powered by leyden jars, but running Linux

I have seen this intermittently today (over the last 7 hours).
I note that we apparently had a record 39000 users earlier today - and currently 31000 - which seems a bit high.

I have many ideas, even some I haven't thought of yet.

I saw it too. Happened only when submitting a message.

Server load does seem to increase after a Fedora release, then tapers off once the bugs are worked out, until the next release.

Possibly I haven't noticed it because I keep odd hours that no normal, sane person would.

It's happening to me today. A rough eyeball adding up of the number of users looking at threads comes to a much smaller number than the total of users at the bottom of the site. Are we being spammed?

    currently 35592 (46 members and 35546 guests)

maybe spambots trying their luck or a ddos attempt.

Yeah, the fact that there consistently seems to be over 35,000 guests seems as if someone or some group is trying something nasty.

Possibly the same group that targeted the Ubuntu forum? Better dig into the logs.

Still going on, actually showing greatest number of users online is today, 40K guests.

I don't know who handles this stuff since Leigh quit, but probably worth asking the hosting company to check logs if you don't have access to them.

Server load seems very minimal today and, for me, the Forum seems fast. Not sure where that 40k is coming from. Lots of non-member lookers daily, but 40k ??? Doubt that.
